Nithoppers

The Nithopper is a large domesticated herbivore local to the Ibraghian Theocracy.

Nithoppers in the theocracy are used as a form of currency for the poor part of the population where either the entire nithopper is traded or products of it are, like the milk. The Niphoppers are even in some parts of the nation given as wedding gifts so that the newly wed couple can have something to start their new life with.

In the urban centers of the Ibraghian Theocracy there is a legend that says that a few hundred years ago during a peasant uprising in lack of better conditions the peasants used Nithoppers as cavalry.

The Nithopper is a large four legged animal and depending on the lineage and purpose of it, it can range from having a slender structure or being more muscular.

The Nithopper is able to eat most of the vegetation that can be found in Mirateia.

In the wild the Nithopper used to live in social groups of up to 20.

Domestication

When the Nithopper were domesticated ages ago, it was barely larger than a wolf but over the time the niphopper were bred to become larger both to provide more meat but also as a byproduct of the larger seize it was able to be used as a farm animal.

Uses, Products & Exploitation

Nithoppers har commonly raised as farm animals and are used for things like meat or milk, some subraces of Nithoppers are bred for the purpose of providing high quality hides that are then processed to leather. Some parts of the Theocracy use them as riding animals and to pull carts and other implements.

Geographic Origin and Distribution

It can be found in the south eastern part of Mirateia in Ibraghian Theocracy

While the species in general is not in danger of extinction by any means, there are some lineages that are taken particularly good care of because they play an important role in the local belief.
