Dear Diary
So in my previous entry which I made yesterday, I mentioned that I would talk a bit about how the
8th Legion, Casa Nicia came to our small city but I might have been a bit distracted.
I must admit that because of previous encounters with large groups of soldiers coming unannounced, one of them I mentioned in the previous entry, I was afraid of the dust clouds that were forming on the horizon and seemed to be moving towards us. skipping over the whole waiting for what could potentially be our destruction, it turned out to be an imperial legion that my father had sent to be garrisoned in our city, I'm still not sure if it is just a coincidence as he claims it to be in his letter to Azran after Azran had written to him asking about the reason for the legion to be here (I'm sure my father knows something and I dont like it).
What I found most interesting about this legion, besides it not having a name and being so fresh that even my boots were older than it, but the interesting thing was that the legion was led by a young woman not much older than me named Althea Karina Murena, I know to abut the Murena family, loyal supporters of the throne but I was still surprised to see how young the commander of the legion was, Azran invited her to dine with us that evening, and sometimes I dont know why or how I put up with that man, because I was running a bit late (beauty takes time) so Azran was entertaining Althea before I entered and she had asked about some rumours that a certain silver-white haired woman was living in the city and she wanted to met the woman that had been receiving the
Blessing of Mara and Azran had seen his chance to have some fun so he had told her that it could be arranged and in that moment as if fate were lining up, I opened up the door to the dining room and Azran presented me as the silver-white haired woman and then gave my title and Althea were shocked and Azran were grinning all over his stupid face.
A few days later I had a meeting with Althea and we talked about both matters of state (we had to figure out the logistics of her legion, Azran might have been better at that but he was busy) and private matters, I learned that she had entered into the legions because as the youngest of a large group of siblings, she had no real future there but her family used their contacts to rise her through the ranks at a record time, she then ended up being assigned as commander of the 8th legion as that one was formed.
I guess this covers what I promised to talk about in the last entry but I would still like to note that no matter what my father's intentions are about sending us this legion, it does make me feel a lot safer.
Now I have to finish this and go talk to the elder of the city, something about.. I forgot
I love that she got to have a chat with Althea. :D
