General Summary
More Elves??
Keck searched the bodies of the dead Drow quickly, uncovering a few gold pieces and a brass key. The party was relieved to be done with that combat encounter. Meanwhile, Fel'Shu rushed to Damakos to render first aid, but he could do little to help as the Tiefling blood hunter's eyes closed shut one last time. Damakos had died from his wounds, but the Keck and Malark refused to leave him. They would take him back to Castleport and try to revive him. But first, the party wanted to continue their search of Halminster Tower. They navigated the dark cooridors, Fel'Shu leading the way. It wasn't long before he cautious monk heard voices in a chamber up ahead. He peeked around the corner, seeing three Drow with a captive Dwarf. He darted across the hall silently and took up a position on the other side. Keck stepped forward to do the same, but he kicked a small pebble which alerted the Drow to their presence. The dark elves whirled around and the situation quickly devolved into a violence. The lead Drow sent wave after wave of magic missiles at Tim the Not-so-Tiny and Malark. Fel'Shu sat calmly in the middle, snatching crossbow bolts out of the air with ease and flinging them back at his attacker. Tim charged in swinging his weapon, instantly killing one of the Drow. Malark called out for a truce in Elvish. The Drow mage ordered her remaining warrior to hold his position. The mage and Malark discussed their respective situations and positions. The mage insisted that it was their right to force these prisoners into slavery as they needed soldiers in their fight against the Mind Flayers. Malark and the party discussed that they had already taken a serious beating and agreed that they would cut their losses. With that, they agreed to part ways. The mage waved her hand and the ground opened up a crevace in the ground revealing a stairwell into the Underdark. The two Drow and their prisoner withdrew into the darkness below.Let the Bodies Hit the Floor
The party felt a need to continue exploring the ruins. Perhaps they would find treasure. They continued eastward into the more natural part of the cavern. As the terrain descended slightly, Keck stepped in a small puddle which burned his foot. Confused by this, he stopped next to it. In that moment, a large gelatinous cube pulled itself out of the puddle and attacked. The ooze gave chase, but slowly. All the party had to do was keep their distance and continue to pepper it with arrows or bolts. Each one they fired disappeared into its body and quickly disolved. It was becoming unclear if they were ever going to defeat it. It chased them ferociously but was unable to catch the party, until they stopped and decided to attack it. The first to fall was Keck; the ooze got a few lucky shots in. Tim almost died but managed to disengage before the cube could finish him off. Next up was Malark. The half-elf died when the cube attempted to absorb his body. Meanwhile, Fel'Shu had made off with his horse and the body of one of the Drow. He intended to sell it to alchemist or other buyer. Back in the ruined tower, Keck had used his relentless endurance characteristic of an orc, to stabilize and recover a small amount. He woke up just in time to see Tim come charging in, greatsword in hand, to cleave the cube off once and for all. The creature shivered momentarily and lost all cohesion, falling into a puddle where they stood. They noticed, however, that a potion of healing and an unidentified, iridescent dagger fell out of the cube. They took them for safe keeping. The rest of the party collected their dead and loaded them onto their horses up on the surface. They intended to visit Keylein Redstream, the priestess in Hardingham Keep in Castleport, to revive their fallen comrades...Rewards Granted

- 200xp for everyone for fighting and defeating (?) the Drow
- 1 Inspiration point for Fel'Shu for creatively resolving the combat with the Drow
- 50xp for Malark for translation duties as required

- 150xp for everyone for concluding the quest (albeit failing to rescue anyone at all) but learning about the conflict between the Drow and the Mind Flayers
