During the second Age, since the re-opening of the
Havens most settlements have not established Coin as a general currency, most townsfolk and other simple folk mostly trade instead of using currency. A few copper might be all they own. A successful fisherman might be able to build a cottage through trade instead of coin.
Other than that, the value of all currency grows linearly. Orichalcum (and Platinum, really) is only shown for reference, both are highly rare and only few people have ever even seen such a coin. Orichalcum Coins are no longer coined today, but only found in treasure of civilizations long past.
Legends speak of Orichalcum coins imbued with the essence of elements. These elemental coins hold fabled properies unknown to most.
