Orbis

Orbisur are a species of sapient bipedal reptilians that originated on the ocean world of Slephus Prime. One of the most immediately apparent features of Orbisur is their partially translucent skin. When exposed to bright light, the skin below their heads can clearly show internal organs and bones - particularly so in their elongated necks. This is more apparent on Orbisur with ivory or blue skin pigments, and less so on those with purple or obsidian pigmentation.

Despite a tall and thin build that appears to have very thin skin, Orbis are remarkably resilient. Their skin is quite smooth and rubbery, originally adapted for amphibious movement, but also resistant to cuts and bruises. Their large eyes are capable of quickly adjusting depending on light levels, optimised for seeing in both dark underwater caverns and sunny islands (and can even see into the ultraviolet spectrum). However, Orbisur are not fully aquatic, as they lack gills.

Psychologically, Orbisur display a preference for extraversion and social settings. While not particularly fond of dense environments any more than other comparable species, they do enjoy being in the presence of others and exchanging ideas. Orbisur are noted to enjoy intellectual environments far more than those that require physical labour, which their tall and lean bodies are not particularly suited for. It should also be noted that while Orbisur have relatively standard reproduction cycles, they take courtship at a far slower pace than other species, leading to an effectively longer cycle.
