The Guardianship of Nyrr is an interstellar government organised as a defensive union. Its capital is the desert world of Nyrra, located in the Nyrrast System, where the reptilian Nyrr evolved. The population of the Guardianship of Nyrr are notable for their fanatic devotion to the defence of their worlds and belief in hierarchical power structures. The Guardianship is ruled by an absolute hereditary monarchy, charged with the defence of all Nyrrian territory. In addition, all Nyrrians are expected to swear blood oaths to protect their sanctuaries from harm with their lives, leading to a martial culture that permeates Nyrrian society. While not isolationist, the Guardianship is extremely defensive of its territory, refusing to cede a single system under any circumstances. Despite its small size, it has the highest number of static orbital defences of any polity in the galaxy.
