Deneb Station
Deneb Station is a citadel-class starbase in orbit of Deneb. Constructed in 2184 CE, the station was established in order to upgrade an existing communication node in orbit of the star. As FTL travel was discovered two decades after its construction, it soon became an important stopover point for ships traversing the Deneb System between hyperspace breach points.
Compared to starbases in other capital systems, Deneb Station receives significantly less traffic. This is due to the fact that Deneb is a supergiant star, putting the habitable zone and hyperlane breach points significantly farther out than most stars. Due to this, the starbase is primarily a shipbuilding installation for the Commonwealth Colonial Navy, although civilian shipping is permitted to use the starbase as a stopover point.
