Lesser Corenean

'Lesser' Coreneans are the native population of the continental planet Coraena, located in the Upper Saggitarius Arm of the Milky Way. They are descended from the Ancient colonists and by the time they made contact with the Empire, they had developed space flight and begun exploring their solar system. In ~7090 AB, Coraena was 'colonised' by an invasion force led by ________, and after a prolonged period of civil resistance, the native population was quashed and became second class citizens on their own planet. Over the course of the last centuries they have been subjected to countless atrocities, pushed into ghettos, used as cheap labour to stripmine their own world, and had their families torn apart. Though the once vibrant culture of Coraena has been all but exterminated, native Coreneans are still very much distinct from 'Imperial Coreneans' and they maintain a strong sense of pride.
