Session 8: Battle of the Mine

General Summary

After the botched hypnotism of the sentry, the entire camp was alerted to the party's intruding into the cavern. The party fortifed the watchtower and eliminated the guards on top of it. Bandits flooded out of the ramshackle buildings and started to surround the tower. A back and forth between Ray and a couple bandit mages casting sleep on each other left Bernie and Sona briefly incapacitated for the start of the fight and several important bandits down for the duration. The bandit leader, before being put to sleep himself, cast a Hold Person on Bernie. Then suddenly a crossbow bolt shot by one of the bandit sentries pierced true into the paralyzed Bernie and dropped him dead on the tower. At the same time, familiar faces also appeared at the cave entrance as the party's school rivals joined the fight. Casting entangle and some additonal sleep spells on the bandits. Together, between the party defending the tower and the rivals fighting from the cave mouth, the bandits are defeated.
