Bur'Nhi Relius (a.k.a. Bernie)
Small of body, large of heart, Bur'Nhi craves the acceptance of his peers but falls short due to his Kobold tendencies. He hopes to one day become a renown adventurer.

General Physical Condition
A small frame draped in his academic clothes hides what could be described as lithe if you were trying to be polite. Scawny and weak if you weren't.
Body Features
His tail is one of the only strong points on his body, it can be used for a multitude of things.
Facial Features
Bernie has a wide and stout snout, and small teeth that can be seen even when his mouth is shut. His eyes are a very gentle and kind Lilac. His horns grow out of the sides of his head and curl around similar to a ram's.
When he gives a genuine smile it could be described as cute, if feral.
Identifying Characteristics
His bright pink scales are one of his most identifying features. Even amongst his tribe, his scales were some of the most vibrant.

More teeth poke out on the right side of his fave than the left side.

He can balance his whole body on his tail.
Apparel & Accessories
He dresses very nicely like a well respected scholar. Over his regualr clothes he wears a traveller's duster that has a number of trinkets hidden in it. He wears a small cap with a large black feather that was given to him by his mentor. He has a pair of goggles that are made specially for his head. hidden under his shirt is a vial of clear liquid that he wears as a necklace.

Personal history
Bur'Nhi was born and raised from a clutch in Koboldopolis. The city is divided into two main sects, The Uppers and The Lowers. The Uppers being the hunters, gatherers, and guards of the main keep. The Lowers make up the mining operations and main commerce. Since the Lowers generate all source of revenue for the city, it comes with special privileges and are treated as the "upper class".
Being an Upper, Bur'Nhi was raised to hunt, track, and thrive in the wilds. The simple ways of the Kobolds never sat well with Bur'Nhi though. A natural tinkerer, he always rigged the traps they used for hunting and tried to come up with more intricate and more effective means. One of the Lowers' trade caravans once brought back a crossbow, his interest was so hard to resist he offered his bow, his next five kills, and all of the chores for the next week that were assigned to the owner. He spent countless hours disassembling and reassembling it. His curiosity merely grew with this and he eventually heard whispers of an academy that taught in trinkets and magics. His only knowledge of magic came from tales of the Dragon that the tribe used to serve long before the reign of King Veritox and those blessed with the draconic bloodline. His curiosity usually landed him in trouble as trinkets and magic were not generally accepted by the tribe.
This came to a head when during his 9th year he started sneaking onto the trade caravan to see the city that they did commerce with. He learned so much on those trips, he eventually traded some of his personal trinkets for an alchemist book for beginners. His possession of this book inevitably landed him in hot water and he was brought before the king on trial. The King exiled the young Bur'nhi from the tribe for his "heresy" to the Koboldopolis ways.
With only his alchemy tome and his wits, he started wandering the island and began living in the woods between Salan and Malieetown, scavenging his food, and pawning off his "concoctions" and second rate potions. He became a familiar face around the towns over the coming years and gained notoriety for his magical concoctions that SOMETIMES were very effective.
After getting by like this for 1 year, he was saved one day from certain death by a Tengu Gunslinger that Bur'Nhi called 'Thunderbird.' Bur'Nhi was able to offer his services to the gunslinger and they traveled together for 2 years. It was during this time that Bur'Nhi became infatuated with firearms and began to theorized on how to combine his alchemical skills and the guns that he had come to love. The Tengu saw a lot of potential in the young kobold and offered to sponsor him and enroll him at the Inner Seas School of Magic.
Bur'Nhi has been a student for 3 years and in his time learned of the greater scope of the school and what happened to it a few years after he was born. He is excited to explore this new world and follow in the footsteps of "Thunderbird."
Gender Identity
Bur'Nhi identifies as his assigned gender, Male. While his scientific mind wants him to look at gender as a binary, he knows that even nature is that simple, and accepts whatever someones preffered pronouns are, he might misgender them before being aware of it though.
Sexuality
Bur'Nhi has never given his sexuality a thought cause he has to figure out how to love himself before others. He doesn't pay attention to what he finds attractive, but denotes it based on what is socially accepted. While Bur'Nhi hasn't realized it himself, he is Asexual.
Education
Bur'Nhi is mostly self taught, that being the case a lot of his knowledge base is directly related to things he likes. He expanded this knowledge upon being enrolled in school in an attempt to be accepted by his peers. Instead, this only ostracized him further by making it clear he was a star pupil a cut above the others. 3 years into the academy and he is still regarded as a top student especially in his fields of study, Alchemy and Tinkering.
Employment
Still being a student, Bur'Nhi has no official employment. Unofficialy though, Bur'Nhi accepts odd jobs and requests from Instructor Twinbonk to assist with any number of things including firearm commisions.
Accomplishments & Achievements
Bur'Nhi field of study was originally potions and their many affects, but upon meeting Thunderbird he quickly changed his field to focus on gunsmithing and how to mix alchemy with it. This resulted in his own very efficiently packed alchemical charges that have had their patent approved officially by the school. During his travels with Thunderbird, he discovered a voltile chemical called Nitroglycerin, highly unstable, highly explosive. He spent a large amount of time studying the compound and by the end of his first year he was successful in distilling it and making it stable without compromising its payload, making it a very useful compound to use while adventuring, mining, and more. He keeps a small vial from his first success around his neck on a chain. He hopes to use it to further the effectiveness of his alchemical ordinance.
Unrelated, Bur'Nhi has also created the equivalent of Hand Sanatizer in his pursuit of good hygeine. Bur'Nhi has the patent for it, but it hasn't gained traction or popularity. Proffesor Oswald is arguing it's viability as a product to be sold on Bur'Nhi's behalf.
Failures & Embarrassments
Gods there are to many to list but I'll give the big one.
When he started attending the school, he started a journal that detailed every person he met, their likes, dislikes, and things he might talk to them about. Some of his bullies took said journal, discovered its purpose and spread copies around the school and titled it "The Creeper's Journal." You can still sometimes find copies tucked away in the school's many libraries despite it being soft-banned for "being a cruel reminder of how not to treat others." This was, and still is a source of scorn for a non-insignificant number of students.
To avoid undue attention, Bur'Nhi travels between classes using the rafters and beams near the ceiling, this hasn't helped his creeper image.
Mental Trauma

He has abandonment issues from being exiled from Koboldopolis and being sent to school by Thunderbird (he's terrified she only did it to get rid of him)
He's a bit of an egomanic (he tries not to show it) becuase he He likes to think he's the smartest person in the room but tries (and fails) not to act like it. While he has this attitude, he still recognizes other people's intellect.

Bur'Nhi likes to think of things as formulae, every situation has its components which has its own differiing results depending on the makeup. Add on his severe attention to detail and deep obsession with collecting knowledge like his own personal hoard, and you have a mighty intelligent fellow.
Morality & Philosophy
Bur'Nhi is Lawful Neutral. He wants to be accepted as an upstanding member of society. However, he has no moral scruples with things such as murder, and theft as long as they are justified in his eyes. For example, if Bur'Nhi were to find a large amount of gold unattended, he would attempt to find the owner or turn it in to the authorities. Depending on how much trouble he had to go through to return it, he may keep some for himself as a form of payment. He learned this mentality from his mentor, "being Kind is good and all, until your giving up food from your own mouth."
Taboos
None in particular besides breaking the law. He recognizes that different societies and cultures have different outlooks on certain practices and tries to be mindful of this while abroad so he doesn't subject them to his assumptions of their laws.

Bur'Nhi's biggest motavation is acceptance. Wether it be from the teachers, his friends, or his peers. That is his ultimate driver. His goal is to become an accomplished adventurer so he may travel with his mentor and not hold her back, but even that is rooted in acceptance.

Bur'Nhi is Savvy with most forms of tinkering. He excells in gunsmithing and memorising formulae.
His one true ineptitude lies in social interactiion and confidence. Which could be mildly described as disastrous. In all honesty a breakdown of his condition could qualify as a Psych Major's capstone.

Bur'Nhi's only virtuous when it comes to rules, and by extension laws. He Tends to follow them to a T, but has no moral quandrums with stretching the limits of the law to encompass his goals, so long as he isn't breaking the law. His Mentor taught him this way of thinking.
Vices & Personality flaws
Bur'Nhi has no vices, the boy wouldn't know what weed is. Which is ironic cause he knows how to make potions that can fuck you up 2 ways to Tucson, but he'd never think to use it recreationally.
Bur'Nhi is an awkward lad who has only had a few years to unlearn the intricacies of kobold community to fit in with "more civilized folk." A lot of those habits are hard to unlearn, so most times he comes off as Neurotic, Intense, Selfish, Rude, a bit of a know it all, a teacher's pet, and downright weird.
His biggest flaw, however, is his ego. You wouldn't think he'd have one with his severe lack of confidence and ability to express said ego. He likes to think he's the smartest person in the room but tries (and fails) not to act like it. While he has this attitude, he still recognizes other people's intellect.

Bur'Nhi is a nervous note taker, it's how his "People Journal" got started. He also tends to mumble and stammer when unsure of how he's interacting with someone (all times). Bur'Nhi collects knowledge, he considers it his hoard. He still has the original alchemy book that got him banished, he carries it with him everywhere.
Hygiene
Bur'Nhi is very good at maintaining his hygeine and being clean, which is astounding considering how his work constantly leaves him in a soiled state, whether it be from gunpower, grease, or chemicals. In order to keep the usual dirts and everyhting away, Bur'Nhi created a distilled alcohol mixture to kill germs and clear dirt.
He keeps his nails short and clean and he polishes his horns every night. Through Prof. Oswald, Bur'Nhi also has a supply of a special salve to maintain his scales and their sheen.

Contacts & Relations
The Faculty and Staff.
Most of the staff is on good terms with Bur'Nhi. He often acts as a teacher's assistant and has helped all of the professors in some way or another, most of the staff wouldn't bat an eye at doing a small favor for Bur'Nhi if asked.
He spends most of his time working with Professor Oswald and Instructor Twinbonk. He assists them both with their personal work.
Professor (Lady) Raja is a special case as Bur'Nhi recognizes her as a True Dragon, the most powerful he's met. Such is the case, Bur'Nhi treats treats Raja as a diety.
Bur'Nhi has two friends.
Ray (of sunshine), whom helped Bur'Nhi while he was at his lowest, she's also the daughter of Professor Shroud.
Dragonblooded Sonantis, son of Lady Raja and boyfriend of Ray. He's a studious sort who works very hard, despite this he knows how to have a good time and often reminds Bur'Nhi to relax.
Family Ties
The closest thing he has to a family would be his mentor Bernadette "Thunderbird" Relius. He sees her as a the closest thing to family he's ever had, he's terrified to tell her how he feels because he's scared she doesn't see him the same way (despite the fact that she gave him her last name upon enrolling).
Religious Views
Bur'Nhi believes in higher powers and respects everyone's individual rights to worship. He personally prays to powerful dragons, as is taught at Koboldopolis. However, lacking any actual dragons on the island, Bur'Nhi began worshipping the first dragon he met, Lady Raja (it helps that she's absurdly powerful). Bur'Nhi leaves offerings on her desk from time to time.
Bur'Nhi has a deep mistrust of very large religious organizations. This mistrust can find its roots in the cult like behavior of the kobolds, but it was really hammered home by his mentor, who was not religious and didn't trust the divine or those who served them.
Social Aptitude
Bur'Nhi's could be described as "inept" social, and that's puttign it politely. It used to be far worse, which is honestly depressing considering how bad it still is.
To put it succinctly, Bur'Nhi is an awkward lad who has only had a few years to unlearn the intricacies of kobold community to fit in with "more civilized folk." A lot of those habits are hard to unlearn, so most times he comes off as Neurotic, Intense, Selfish, Rude, a bit of a know it all, a teacher's pet, and downright weird. Due to these traits (and more), he's been subject to quite a bit of bullying. The only people he'd consider friends would be Ray, Sona, and quite a few of the teachers and staff at the academy. The few students that he is acquaintances with only ended up like that due to being partnered with him on projects and assignments and realized "he's not that bad." Ray and Sona are the only ones who stuck around and gave Bur'Nhi a chance besides the teachers.
Mannerisms
Bur'Nhi has a problem stammering and just an overall lack of confidence. He does, however, lose this stammer and become more self assured in the throes of combat.

None. He has worked for everything he has. The only acception would be his scholarship at the academy, which is being paid by a famous adventurer who took Bur'Nhi under her wing after he was exiled.
A would be school shooter who decided to be better than those that scorned him by becoming rich and famous by killing a lot of things very quickly using his alchemy and giant gun.
