Session 7: Investigation of Cayd

General Summary

After their investigations the previous night, the party made preparations to set off to investigate Cayd's disapperance. The party asked around the city and found Cayd's sister-in-law Valerie who told the group the general whereabouts of the mine where the bandits had supposedly made an outpost. The party gathered some supplies and set off down the road to the find the trail to the mine. After an uneventful walk, Sona found the trail leading deeper into the mountains and after an hour's journey they arrived at the small cabin on the outskirts of the mine. Ray crept up to the window of the occupied cabin to spot a couple bandits playing dice at a table inside. Aettnas opened the door and initiated a combat with the sentry at the entrance. The party moved swiftly and efficiently and dispatched the group before they could take a hostile action, taking one of the bandits prisoner. A lengthy interrogation with the very sarcastic bandit revealed some information such as there is fifty five bandits in the operation, Cayd's family is being held prisoner inside and the bandits had overtaken the ore operation. Aettnas knocked the bandit unconcious, Bernie gave him 20 gold as promised and they dumped him in a bush a couple hundred yards out in the forest. The party then entered into the mine cavern. After traveling through the narrow entrance passage, they came to a much larger cave where they scouted a few ramshakle buildings, a watch tower and several bandits milling about. A botched hypnotism of the sentry led the party to joining him on the watch tower where he promptly called for assistance, drawing the attention of the entire group in the mine.
