Khambuldohr

A large dwarven kingdom located in the central part of the Birchstar Mountains.

History

Pre-History

After the fall of the Koria Dynasty, the dwarves emerged from their underground homes to form local clan settlements throughout the Birchstar Mountains. These clans were self-sufficent and mostly tended to themselves through the reign of Vanararajya and for the most part the vanarans left them alone. In the centuries following the dissolution of the raj, the population of the dwarves was growing at an impressive rate and the need for a central rule became apparent. Four strongholds formed from this need as the clans started merging, Dhogboldor, Khun Burim, Mortodur and Vomkuldir.

Unification of the Dwarves

It is said that Torag himself called for the confederation of the dwarven strongholds. A dwarf by the name of Mogror, who was the leader of Khun Burim, called the other leaders together for the first moot. It was at this moot and through Mogror's great rhetoric that the leaders of Mortodur and Vomkuldir swore fealty to him bringing all of the central dwarves under one ruler. The northern sect of Dhogboldor rejected the notion of losing its sovereignty and instead only pledged mutual aid and support and cemented an alliance with the fledgling kingdom. The unification did not appease all residents of the mountains and after a short-lived revolt a radical political group fled westward and found refuge in the lone mountain Kuldarum founding Nul Taruhm.

Demography and Population

Throughout the kingdom, almost the entirety of the population of Khambuldohr are dwarves. Occasionally other races, namely humans, also call the mountains home.
