Session 11: Everyone Lies (Rimetrail 10) Report
General Summary
In early winter, the PC's get together on a Friday night at the Hedgehog in the Collegium District.
They learn from Keryth that Radomir Schlenk had been retired as a wizard. His ability to cast magic had been stripped from him, and consequently, it might be possible to have him try and translate some of the documents they recovered in the Goblin Wastes without risk of him actually being able to use them. Later in their drinking session, they were approached by a second story man named Grigori. It turned out that he was the man who Nephi and Jayme saved from being pickpocketed in the Seven Bells months earlier. He asked for help, and explained he had been interrogated by the Spyglass Guild earlier in the day. Apparently his girlfriend Ilyana had helped him plan a heist and he wanted to go into hiding, but needed them to get a message to her that she should hide as well. Nephi convinced Grigori the PC's might help, if he'd stop stealing. Grigori agreed. He recommended they look for her in the Lower District. She has friends named Iskra and Filipa who work at the Silk Scabbard who may know her whereabouts. When they leave the Hedgehog, they encounter some ruffians who imply they work for the Blue House. They threaten the PC's to turn Ilyana over to them if they find her, or they'll see the bottom of the Blue House. Confused by this message, the PC's continue to the Silk Scabbard. There they interview both Iskra and Filipa, and learn that Ilyana hadn't told them where she was going. Dejected, the PC's try to determine what to do next, and are confronted by thugs who apparently serve the Cloven Nine. They threaten the PC's and tell them to stop looking for Ilyana. They imply she is the daughter of Lord Greymark, a member of the Praetor Council.
The PC's leave the Silk Scabbard, and are then approached by Hendryk, a seargent of the City Watch. He informs them that Ilyana stole the Lord Commander's Black Book of Confession, a log of egregious sins the Lord Commander had learned about. He informs them they should meet with Radu Underhill in the Cartways Black Market, who will know how to extricate them from the situation without getting killed.
