Syllin (Sill-In)
Syllin is the Goddess of Secrets. She lends her ear to those with overbearing guilt so that they can admit their sins and begin to move on while she keeps those secrets hidden away. Her followers take the keeping of secrets very seriously and guard such secrets zealously; some even go so far as to cut out their own tongues so that they will never be able to speak of what others have had confided within them, instead learning to lip read and use a language based solely on finger motions to communicate. Syllin is thought to be at odds with Astraea, the goddess of wisdom and society, as her tenets guide her followers towards enlightenment through the pursuit of knowledge, which include the secrets, both harmless and world changing, kept by Syllin's Keepers. The goddess of secrets has some followers who seek her blessings for more nefarious purposes; assassins, thieves, cutpurses and murderers are but a few who offer prayers to Syllin to keep their deeds shrouded in secrecy, but the lady of whispers will sometimes allow horrendous deeds come to light in order to punish those who admit to committing grave offences and show no remorse.
