Agrichav

Demographics

Agrichav is home to the standard blend of Humans, Dwarves, and Elves found across the Viden League, with a higher than average number of Dwarves drawn to the massive mining and metallurgical operations. The small Dragonborn community of Agrichav is mostly copper-scaled.
Inhabitants of Agrichav are known for a stern and industrious temperament even above that of the League in general, but they are also widely hospitable to outsiders and foreigners.

Government

Agrichav's executive power lies with Chancellor Henrikke. Whilst young for her position, her businesslike demeanour keeps the town running with efficiency.
Administrative duties are performed by Principal Elen, an expressive and exuberant individual originally hailing from Boorhav.
The elven Rector Vilhelm handles both military and academic matters, his clipped and formal bearing an artefact of his previous life as a soldier for the League.

Industry & Trade

The forges and workshops of Agrichav produce all manner of goods, including weapons and armor for the military of the League, alchemical and thaumaturgical equipment, as well as simple and mundane metal items - hinges, lockboxes, and so on.
In the heart of the academic enclave, tame-sun cages are constructed under the meticulous eye of the most senior of the Sun Cult priesthood and the Agrichav scholars. These are then shipped under heavy guard to the port at Huygepel, and then on to the Sun Cult lands.
The goldsmiths of Agrichav are known across Eira for the extreme intricacy and mathematical precision of their work. Agrichav jewellery is a highly-prized status symbol amongst the elite of the continent.

Infrastructure

Agrichav's academic enclave is a vast and mazelike network of mineheads, forges, and metallurgic laboratories. The mines extend far below the ground and into the Viden mountains proper, where rare metals, minerals, and gemstones are mined for use in the enclave's research. In particular, the materials used for caging Tame-Suns are drawn from the mines of Agrichav and refined in its foundries and workshops.
The precious metals and gemstones mined from the Viden mountains are also used in Agrichav's mint, where Viden coins are produced and disseminated across the League, and masterpieces of jewellery are created for the elite of Eira.
The southernmost reaches of the Circle of Wisdom run through Agrichav. To the West, the road skirts the edge of the Viden mountains before rising up towards Gerichem. To the North-East, the road cuts through the deserts toward the oasis of Boorhav.

Architecture

Structures in Agrichav follow the typical Viden style, constructed from grey stone from the nearby mountains. The rooftops and upper floors tend to be stained dark with smog from the enclave's smokestacks and foundries, so wealthier dwellings usually only rise a few stories above ground, whilst poorer houses stretch up higher.

Geography

Agrichav lies on the eastern edge of the Viden mountains, against a large lake in the foothills. The land around the lake is fertile, and farms stretch out for miles from the town to feed the populace. The town itself sprawls out far into the plains and foothills of the Viden mountains, leaving the largest footprint in the League.
