Midara

The great realm of Midara is ancient, but the scars of wild, primordial magic are still raw.
Creation myth goes here - Ysse has one with variation for cultures, continent B has another that was spread from the southern islands. Northern islands have a third, but the ancient culture knows the truth.
Current problems go here. Probably general fantasy banditry, border squabbles, and magical fallout from the scars of the old civilisation
  Cultures:
Ysse
??? (small culture) The nomadic tribes that roam the foothills of (mountain range). Adept scouts and riders, they facilitate trade between the petty kingdoms of (continent). Mongol inspiration
??? (large culture) The fisher kingdom of (name), spread along the western coast of (continent). Known to be dour and insular. Inspiration from northern england and western russia
??? (large culture) network of baronies and fiefdoms spread around a swampy area. Borders with the fisher kingdom. Agriculturally rich, but majority live in poverty. Inspiration from medieval france
??? (small culture)
  Eira
Kingdom of Enkur (large culture): standard desertic culture. Veils, dancers, sand, etc. perhaps a reverence for the brutal thunderstorms that sweep across the desert?
??? (small culture) Sun cult in the northern tip of the continent. Known for the Palace of the Sun, where a complex array of mirrors shine sunlight throughout the sprawling temple corridors. south american flavour
Republic of Namu (small culture): puts huge value on performance and roles. lots of inspiration from kabuki and Visage - masks and costume have special day-to-day significance
Viden League (league of city-states): Danish-styled, big on science and research, think Library of Kno from Silver and works of Tycho Brahe
Northen Islands culture - Inuit-esque but with a bit of viking flavour. Diet of fish, seafood, sour berries, seaweed, and a very small amount of hardy grains grown in the scarce fertile soil. Refer to the Chelonate - lots of use of giant crustacean shells and sea/plant leather
Southern islands culture
Ancient culture - gaelic language
