Voice of Urh

General.

"Words carries power, and that saying becomes quite literal when it concerns the Voice of Urh.
— Unknown.
The Voice of Urh is one of the most revered, feared, and mythical Sacred Artforms that exists, being capable of reshaping the Fabric of Reality with a mere whisper of a word uttered.
To utilize the Sacred Artform is to speak the Urh Language spoken by Architect and His Firstborn and — to an extent — understand it.

Altering the world with a word.

"Choose your words wisely.
— Unknown.
One is either bestowed the capability to utilize the Voice of Urh, or have to rigorously train for decades to grasp it even sparsely.
These practitioners — commonly referred to as Speakers — are capable of affecting and altering the Fabric of Reality to varying degrees. This is dependable on the durability and power level of the Speaker and what they are willing to sacrifice and endure.
For example, a Melathi Speaker — who has been schooled in the Sacred Artform — is not capable of completely altering the Fabric of Reality, nor for any meaningful measure of time. They also bear the risk of bestowing themselves great harm and even facing death, should they not choose their words wisely.

The Three Forms
of the Voice of Urh.

There offically exist three forms of the Voice of Urh, known as Endhra, Endrahk and Enoska. It should be noted that Endra is capable of preforming all that which Endrahk and Enoska is constricted by, though its users may never become as skilled in their usage.
Speakers of all forms will most commonly utilize the Sacred Artform in ways that affects their surroundings, such as opponents, tools or environmental phenomenon. However, excluding the Enoska Form, Speakers may also utilize it in ways that affects their own person, though these effects does not last nearly as long. If someone who merely used the Enoska Form attempted it, they would quite possibly destory themselves.

Clear Intent Necessary.

The possible effects that Endhra and Endrahk allows only really requires a clear Inten. If the Speaker is unsure of what the intended effect is to be, then the Voice of Urh itself will decide one that is as close to the meaning of the word as possible.

Endhra Form.

" STANNA!
— A Speaker using the Voice of Urh to
freeze an opponent dead in their his tracks.
Those who Speak utilizing the purest and most refined form of the Voice of Urh are the strongest of their kind; capable of completely altering the Fabric of Reality and to a nigh-permanent degree at that.

Affecting surroundings.

They can turn flesh into crystal, cause the air to burn with the intensity of a star, and compel their opponents to drop dead.
More mundane uses would be sharpening a dull knife or dry wet clothing.

Affecting oneself.

One can turn oneself invincible and indestructible, or invisible to all but a few.
One can also change the shade of one's hair and skin, though the alteration of one's eye color is exceedingly difficult.
" BRINN!
— A Speaker, using the Voice of Urh to
cause an opponent to turn into fire.

Endrahk Form.

" KYLA!
— A Speaker, using the Voice of Urh to
to create a blizzard.
The Speakers who utilize the more unrefined and crude variant of the Voice of Urh, known as the Endrahk Form, are the most common ones. Capable of only altering the Fabric of Reality to a certain degree that will only last for some time. Another contrast is that ever word they Speak reverberates around them, like distant echoing thunder.

Possible effects.

" LIV OMKRING MIG!
— A Speaker, using the Voice of Urh to
to get a sense of opponents in the area.
Endrahk Speakers need to Speak the words clearly and with clear Intent to affect the world around them. Causing ice, flame, and lightning to encompass that which is Spoken to, reveal the presence of life nearby or compel sapient individuals to carry out their wish, even if it means eventual suicide. It can also be used to create storms that bring forth either rain and lightning or snow and ice, or clear the sky of any undesirable weather phenomenon.
The stronger aspects of this form can even affect the Tapestry of Fate to a slight degree, in the sense that it can imbue imperfections into the inanimate, and weaken the flesh.

Enoska Form.

" NEJ!
— A Speaker, creating a shockwave capable
of pulverizing stone.
The crudest form of the Voice of Urh that is accessible to Speakers is the Enoska Form. Speakers of this form cannot alter the Fabric of Reality in any meaningful way whatsoever. It can, however, break apart its patterns to a noticeable degree.
Each word is thunder; an unrelenting force that reverberates around them and only brings destruction to that which is Spoken to.
Due to its destructive nature and lethality in usage, it is the arguably the rarest of all three forms.

Known shortcomings & drawbacks.

Affecting one's self.

For reasons unknown, the Voice of Urh can never permanently affect and alter one's own person, whether it concerns the physical, metaphysical, or mental side of things. True, they can last for an impressive amount of time but sooner or later the effect will cease, and not always with no side effects attached. Some effects may outright leave you dead or braindead, or at the very least bestow you great harm that may be of a life-crippling nature.

Weakness of the Tongue.

Due to its nature, the Voice of Urh can only be Spoken by someone with a physical tongue. Thus an effective method of incapacitating a Speaker is to cut their tongue off, though it is easier said than done.
Not only is this due to the fact that they can sever a Thread of Life with a mere whispered word, but also due to the fact that the primordial energy inherent in the Voice of Urh strengthens their tongue for a varying amount of time; directly after using the Voice of Urh, the tongue is more durable than steel.
Easier ways to silence a Speaker is to simply gag them with a cloth, or attach a metallic mouthpiece contraption onto them.

Power draining.

Utilizing the Voice of Urh will leave most either tired or exhausted. Some will faint after extended usage without considerable pause. How long they need to rest varies greatly. Both on the Speaker, the words they uttered, and how long they Spoke them. Some only need a few minutes of rest while others may be bedridden for weeks as their body is recovering from the strain, both physically and metaphysically.

Bloodied mouth.

It is not uncommon for a Speaker to have their mouth suffer physical wounds after utilizing the Voice of Urh. This primarily concerns the inside of the cheeks and the underside of the tongue. It is quite a painful experience but fortunately it will all heal in a matter of days. Using the Voice of Urh to heal the wounds only results in half-hearted results, that nonetheless speeds up the healing process.

Becoming too fluent

One of the most severe drawbacks, is that Speakers will eventually find themselves unable to speak in the Common Tongue no matter if they wished it with all their being; for all intents and purposes, it would appear that the Voice of the Urh ensnares the tongue of the Speaker, allowing only the Urh Language to be used.
This appears to be the inevitable fate of all Speakers, at least those who are not Selathi in nature. For some, it takes mere years, while for more long-lived and durable specimens it may take centuries or millennia before the snare around the tongue tightens too much.
Due to this, most who have become fluent force themselves to only communicate through body language and/or sign language. That or with the help of writing mediums, be it a chalkboard or a touch-screen tablet.

Manifestation

The Voice of Urh may — in contrast to ordinary speech — showcase some visualized characteristics when uttered. How it showcase itself differs between each Form:

Endhra Form Manifestation

The one most affilitated with the Endhra Form showcase itself as a soft flash of silver-shaded light, sprinkled with crimson-shaded sparkling grains of pure energy. It will escape their mouth when they initiate the Speech and will last as long, before fading away.

Endrahk Form Manifestation

The one most affiliated with the Endrahk Form showcase itself as vibrating silver-white air. It will manifest in front of their mouth, and disipate outwards to the sides as quickly as it appears.
