Solis Rings
General
Realms of Alézun'Teran are not illuminated by celestial objects that they orbit around. Instead, they are illuminated by so-called Solis Rings. Grandiose artifacts of power designed by Architect Himself.
Positioning matters not
They are primarily placed on the ground, or an equivalent and exposed to the open sky. They may also be placed underground or left levitating high up among clouds. It matters not, however, as the illuminating capabilities of a Solis Ring permeate the earth and air. The potency, range and effects are determined by the skills and capabilities of whoever created it. They can either bestow a realm a standard twenty-four-hour day and night cycle, or something like a perpetual twilight.
Functionality
How they function does stretch the natural laws of physics regarding light to its near breaking-point, and it utilizes Sereoth Vapors to accomplish this. For a standard illumination cycle, the light will wander across a realm as if there existed a literal sun that wandered across the firmament. The shadows will also reflect this as naturally as possible. Even if the Solis Ring is right next to the trees, their shadows will be directed away from a supposed afternoon sun, even if it means pointing directly towards the Ring.
Size and Numbers
Each Realm generally have merely a single Solis Ring, but exceptions exist. Varldstan Seltiren have at least three of them, for example, that are levitating among the cloudy mists.
The size of the Solis Rings can vary quite a bit. Though it is said that the most effective ones have a radius of approximately fifty meters. The smallest ones have been said to be merely one and a half meters in radius. One may ask if the size has an effect on its potency and radius is dependable. A skilled enough craftsman will be able to make a small Solis Ring strong enough to illuminate a Realm the size of half a planet. However, its far easier and less straining on the Ring itself if it has a greater radius.
Appearance & Touch
A Solis Ring looks like a thin ring of light, that may be primarily shaded either golden orange or silver-white. It can, however, showcase any shade its creator wishes, whether it is crimson, emerald or violet. If done well, it will be cool to the touch and incorporeal to the touch of Melathi.

Ooh, a very unique and fascinating item! I love it. I'd love to see one of these in real life; too bad I can't!
