Vinot

Vinot are a herbivore with significant tracking capabilities. Several breeds are used to provide trail finding services and are often trained to operate simple controls to pilot skiffs and flyers as taxi's, shuttles, and deliveries.    Some Grettin bread an alter the genetics to produce new varieties for interested buyers and businesses with specific needs that are provided for by these intelligent animals. Because of this these are often sought for export as rare novelties to the galaxy at large.

Basic Information

Anatomy

The Vinot range from the size of a house cat to a wild boar. Generally hairless, with six legs, four eyes, and a large mouth. The Vinot are born in litters of three to six Slippits that need to be kept moist for the first few weeks of life as they suckle life from their mother. After a few more months they are full grown and energetic, the Vinot gain sexual maturity in two years and have a typical lifespan of twenty to forty years depending on the breed.  

Common Breeds

  Hunnil: These are the common aerialists, small like a house cat and almost exclusively albino they enjoy heights. These are commonly trained to guide flying contraptions on various worlds. With a tremendous sense of smell, and great low light vision, they can track well in winds or rain.   Juil Hak: These purplish/pink boar sized beasts are great at tracking on the ground and in the dark. Able to see somewhat into the infrared spectrum and with great hearing they are used often as tracking animals to search for lost persons, or used by bounty hunters in tracking prey.   Yuril: Small dog sized and unusually colorful with small tufts of brightly colored hair in their ears, these are the most often kept as pets, and also the most often used in commercial endeavors to run repulser skiffs from place to place. Many a small business keeps a couple of these for the small tasks they can perform.
