History

Classical Era

The history of the land we now call Austasia can be traced back to the earliest known agrarian tribes that inhabited the subcontinent.

Imperial Era

The expanding Dekaelic Empire first discovered and invaded Austasia during the Imperial Era. They first encountered the Atrani.

As the Dekaelic Empire found itself stretched thin by various simultaneously occurring crises, Emperor Daedalos invited Gutonic mercenaries to assist in restoring order to the subcontinent. Crises worsened and expenses rose. The emperor then ordered a complete withdrawal from Austasia. The subcontinent collapsed and shattered into numerous petty kingdoms. The western realms were ruled by the foreign gutones. Once mercenaries, now kings.

Middle Era

Middle Austasian culture developed in the various kingdoms.

The realm was eventually united as the High Kingdom of Austasia.

Enlightenment Era

The beginning of the Enlightenment was marked by the Austasian Republican Revolution in which the High Kingdom of Austasia was overthrown and replaced by the new Grand Republic of Austasia.

During this period, the Grand Republic emerged as a world power, rivalling the diminishing Dekaelic Empire.

Austasia began colonizing the New World in the late Enlightenment Era.

Industrial Era

The Grand Republic of Austasia continued to cement itself as the most powerful nation in the world. By this time, Austasia had completely eclipsed the power of the Dekaelic Empire. The two powers are now on friendly terms and are largely cooperative.
