Dekaelic Empire
Structure
The Dekaelic Empire is made up of five constituent kingdoms and a number of imperial provinces.
Dekaelic Kingdoms
Located on the Dekaelic peninsula, the five Dekaelic Kingdoms are each ruled by a hereditary king. While subordinate to the emperor, the Dekaelic kings hold their titles until death or abdication, followed by the title being pass to their chosen heir. The emperor does not have the right to deprive the kings of their titles and lands.
Imperial Provinces
The emperor's administration appoints governors to rule each imperial province that fringes the core kingdoms. Appointees are normally chosen from about a dozen powerful families within the empire and its provinces. A governor retains their office until death, revocation, or very rarely, resignation. The emperer has the right to revoke governor appointments with due process.
Dimitsana - The empire's capital and its largest city.
