Foglop Species in Melyria | World Anvil

Foglop

In memory of our pet rabbit Inno, from 18.10.2009 to 28.10.2019. We will miss you, fluffball.
(And I still think we should have named you Shredder.)
Foglop is a rabbit-like Fey creature, that can be met in meadows and forests in both Prime Material plane and the Feywild. They often go unseen, as with them they call the veil of mist to protect them. Often grumpy and reclusive, these fey creatures are proud and quick, and in their own tiny minds, the kings and queens of the bunny kind.

Basic Information

Anatomy

The foglop looks like a grey, fluffy rabbit weighing about 1,4 to 2.2 kg. It has either floppy or straight ears, and it has a cold aura to it.

Ecology and Habitats

Like most bunnies, foglop enjoys burrowing and having its own tunnels, but prefers someone else to do dirty work for them if possible. They are perfectly happy with pre-digged tunnel networks, holes under rocks, and even foundations of buildings or similar. As they call for the mist to protect themselves, places were mist or fog naturally gather and food is plenty are ideal for the foglop.

Dietary Needs and Habits

Foglops are very picky about what they eat. They are herbivores. Plants they eat must be crunchy, like hay, carrots, seeds, and apples. If your salad has no crunch, foglop will rather eat wood or bark.

Additional Information

Domestication

Foglops can be domesticated, though as prideful creatures, they do not give their affection to just anyone. A lot of trust is required to befriend a foglop. Occasionally Dryads and Nymphs might have foglops as their guardians, and even Hags might find them for company, though that often doesn't end well for the foglop.

Uses, Products & Exploitation

Fur of the foglop can have several uses, and their paws are infamous among hags, who make unlucky charms out of them. Creature's connection to water makes them good at calling for rain.

Geographic Origin and Distribution

Most likely meeting place for a Foglop is meadows and forests, often near bodies of water. Because of the reclusive nature of foglops, it is hard to tell how prominent they genuinely are. They are more prominent in Feywild, but can be found in opportune places in the Prime Material plane, often near natural entrances to the Feywild.

Symbiotic and Parasitic organisms

Despite often being reclusive, foglops can form small family groups or even form families with regular bunnies.
