Legacya

The last of the three kingdoms that arose with the fall of Snadov*, the century-old nation that occupied nearly the whole of central människar. Legacya's identity emerged out of the influence of the Twins over the southern provinces that once belonged to Snadov, originating a nation that flirts with the southern philosophy and its ideals, shifting society's focus from religion and superstition to human primary, science and education, all while still retaining much of the traditional laws and customs of the fallen kingdom. In essence, Legacya is nation marked by contradicting principles which have been responsible for a progressive rise in tensions between the nobility, the rising bourgeoisie and the crown, the latter proving incapable of providing stability to the kingdom. Nevertheless, the legacyan people and culture continue to fight against the hardships of life.

Culture

Unlike Velden and Vevia*, the legacyan people are considerably less traditional, unbound to ancient customs when compared to their northern neighbors. Moreover, the kingdom is constantantly influence by the unending flow of merchants and travelers from the south, all of which bring news, stories, technologies and products from more liberal and advanced nations. Because of this, since the time Legacya was still part of Snadov, a clear divergence regarding culture and practices permeated the kingdom, as the southern provinces and large central cities would strongly adhere to customs aligned with the Twins, seen as beacons of progressism in all the world. On the other hand, remote villages and hamlets remain loyal to ancient practices - burning their dead, praying for Arior* or Gammalist gods, and having a hostile stance against foreigners and other races, such as dwarves.
Regarding religion, there's been a significant trend of shift in the legacyan faith, as gammalists stop worshipping decrepit statues of unknown, ancient gods and turn to the well-established Arialist Church, which in turn is losing followers to the philosophical thinking that encompasses Mosaicism, from the Twins. As a response to this, Arialor* started to heavily fund missions and inquisitor parties to Legacya, seeking to staunch the ever-growing hemorrhage of worshippers.

Politics

Legacya is ruled by King Adrian Lewicki, whose house is a distant relative to the decadent Dabrowski* dynasty, from Snadov. He inherited the throne from his older brother, Nazaron Lewicki, who died of Pale Fever a few weeks after being crowned king, back in 1000 when Legacya arose from the shattered kingdom. Overall, Lewicki is seem by his vassals as weak and short-sighted, his policies inneficient and management of the kingdom arbitrary. Many have argued over his complacency over the several, minor conflicts that have happened in the last two decades (as of 1025), in particular the several skirmishes that took place in the province of Povaz, as houses Morav and Cernol fought over a land dispute in the east. At the time, the crown stood idle as several villages and the town of Marcelia were hit by collateral damage, the latter, in particular, was looted by the armies of house Cernol.
As a consequence of his ineptitude as king, several factions have arised within the kingdom, most notably the one led by Duke Gervais Ormánski, duke of Verkh and Lord of the City of Pieclaw, a stern and strict man known for his ruthlesness in terms of decision-making, yet a true administrator, remarked for his ability to "weave gold from the wind". Amongst his allies is the Baron of Monteblu - Cyril Portier, who's been gaining fame for hiring swords and talent from far and wide.
The counts and nobles of the kingdom, despite the incompetence of King Adrian, fear the risk of a civil war, given the nation is already in a weakened state and many whisper rumors of neighboring monarchs pondering an easy conquest of land.

Military

Despite being considered the weakest of the kingdoms in Manniskar, Legacya's military isn't one to dismiss as one does with a band of brigands. What they lack in heavy infantry and armored cavalry they make with light and swift troops that cross the plains and valleys of the central regions like an arrow cuts through the wind, experts in skirmishing and ambushes. Their light cavalry, called the Temudin, ride agile horses, trained to dart into forests, nimbly weaving through roots and hazards that would hinder most cavalry. Simultaneously, skilled archers and crossbowmen nest themselves on hills, the mountainside and tall trees to rain arrows against pursuers, all while their infantry maneuvers across the battlefield, drawing enemy forces to unfavorable positions with repeated charge and retreat tactics.
