Huntslan
The ancestral home of the Alka, Huntslan provides much raw labor to other nations in the realm.
Structure
Huntslan has little-to-no orginization, as control of its territories are divided up amongst various and constantly changing Alkan packs.
Assets
Huntslans major assets are its people, the Alka, who make excellent mercenaries, bodyguards and laborers. They are often hired by Gurlen and Ironclade for manual labor or to hunt down roaming monsters.
History
The alkan packs used to roam all over the realm, in the time before nations. Over the millennia, however, as the other races consolidated power and established cities, the alkan constantly found themselves pushed further and further north. Eventually, all that remained for them was a small corner in the north-eastern section of the realm
Demography and Population
Huntslan has a population of around 90,000, nearly all of which are Alka, though a few ratosk and elven outcasts live among them.
Territories
The huntslan packs control the territory in the northeast of the realm, between Gurlen and North Tar-Dorol.
Military
Each Huntslan pack is akin to a small military force, and when packs work together, their skills can rival that of even a much larger military force, such as Ironclade or Welthrone. The packs are masters of woodlands warfare, able to slink into the woods and pick off larger groups one by one.
Religion
Most in Huntslan worship a member of the Alkan Pantheon, with Alka, the head of the pantheon, being the most commonly venerated.
Foreign Relations
Most of the rest of the realm views Huntslan as a backwater nation, only good for their labor. Due to this stigma and their short tempers, Huntslan is quick to jump on opportunities to take out their rage on other nations, often forming brief-lived raiding parties that plunder border outposts or trade routes.
Laws
Huntlsan law is anarchic, with each pack creating and enforcing their own rules. One of the only shared laws is that the city of Caofuar, as well as the Tomb of the Underworld, are sacred grounds, and no blood is to be spilled there.
Another universally accepted rule is that an Alka who betrays their pack must be put to death, regardless of circumstance.
Agriculture & Industry
Huntslan primarily acts as a hunter-society, raising and hunting exotic game and selling its meat. They also raise excellent hunting dogs that are sold throughout the realm.
Education
There is no formal education system in Huntslan, and many Alka lack basic reading and writing skills. They tend towards teaching practical skills, such as hunting, crafting, and labor-skills.
Infrastructure
Hunstlan as little infrastructure, with most packs preferring to live simple lives deep in wooded areas. There is only one major road that runs through the nation, connecting their major permanent settlements.
