The Freehold Revolution, also known as the Demian Civil War, began with the battle of the Hyljin. The war would ravage Demia for the next twelve years.

The Freeholds Revolution, or the Demian Civil War, was a civil war between the Loyalists, who supported the absolute monarch Kadok "The Mad" and the Freeholds, who demanded a return to the previous elective process in Demia. The War would last for the next twelve years and the tide of the war ebbed and flowed several times. The war was eventually won by the Freeholds, who executed the king and his dynasty and reestablished the traditional elective system.
