With her uncles trust, Kstin moved swiftly to take advantage of her newfound authority, though not swiftly enough to draw attention. By the end of her second year as spymaster, Kstin had foiled two assassination attempts for her uncle and acquired a treasure trove of blackmail for herself. This unspoken power over the realm, unbeknownst to any within the royal family, earned Kstin the nickname 'Shadow Queen' as she held perhaps greater de facto power to ruin any noble house than the Vzjoknir himself.
