"Time is said to have flowed wildly out of control after the sundering, only being tempered with the awakening of Ija."Ija is a goddess of the Ziela pantheon. Alongside Itu she forms the "Themeli" or "Foundation" of the universe by controlling the flow of time, ensuring that it always flows forward at a steady pace, never shifting direction or speed. Ija is said to have been the first of the modern divines to awaken and in so doing, unleashed the flow of time upon the young universe. Ija began to manipulate the flow of time, directing it forwards and backwards, starting and stopping it at her will only to discover that nothing would change, for the universe was without substance. She forced time forwards, faster than it had ever been driven until the second being Itu would awaken. With Itu's awakening, space manifested as an aspect of reality. Itu soon gained mastery over space and brought Ija to him. With time and space in their control, the universe could begin to take shape. Ija and Itu christened themselves the "Themeli," the foundation upon which the universe could stand. From this foundation, the remaining gods sprang forth and set about the task of creating the stars, the world, and eventually mortal life. But through all the process of creation, Ija and Itu would remain as the solid foundation upon which the universe would stand.
