Ekuchi
"The Kosva elected to forgo whiping out the natives of the isles themselves and chose instead to confine them to a barren nothing island where the hope was that time would do the bitter work on their behalf."Ekuchi is the largest and most well-known of the reservation towns within the Ultuski Potentate. The city dominates the southernmost island of the Ultuski archipelago and has little in the way of natural resources aside from iron and stone, leaving the town one of the poorest in Zinruna.
Demographics
The town is made up of the descendants of the original human inhabitants of the Ultusk islands after the Kosva invaders displaced them at the beginning of the first succession crisis. The various cultures have blended together over the generations but are still subject to large scale poverty and are still forbidden from leaving their island.
Government
The town is subject to the Ultuski Crown but is generally allowed to run its own internal affairs. The townspeople form a de facto council elected from their elders to manage the town, distribute the limited food, and ensure shelter.
Industry & Trade
The vast majority of the population is either unemployed or works odd jobs that don't fill their days. Those who are employed typically work in the mines or quarries or as fishermen or hunters.
Geography
The land surrounding the town is rugged and inhospitable tundra with the exception of the foothills of Mt. Eku to the north, which are home to a number of plants and animals.
Climate
The climate of Ekuchi is cold and wet. Nearly a third of the year will consist of days where the temperature does not rise above freezing
Natural Resources
The town is propped up almost entirely by its mines and quarries which provide a cheap source of limestone, coal, and iron. The town also has a small fishing industry but it is severely hampered by the ban on inhabitants owning boats.
