Agala Settlement in Massaolo | World Anvil

Agala

"I'm told the city is purely a sprawl. The number of buildings with more than a single story can be counted on a single hand."
Agala is a city in central Isobrach which serves as the home and de facto capital of Clan Fúrsá. Due to the clan's isolationism, the city has remained relatively unchanged since the arrival of foreign powers on the island and is seen as a bastion of Brasian resistance against foreign influence.

Defences

The city is centered on a fairly standard Brasian hillfort sporting earthen walls girded by wooden palisades. There are said to be upwards of 300 soldiers housed within the city.

Architecture

The architecture of the city follows traditional Brasian methods, utilizing earthen walls, stone floors, and thatch roofs. The city is said to have "few enough multi-story buildings to count on one hand" but no outsider has ever seen the city itself to verify.

Geography

Agala sits on a hill nearby to Lake Agal and the river Lan. It is flanked by foothills to the north, lake Agal to the east, and rolling plains to its south and west.

Natural Resources

Agala's closeness to Lake Agal and the river Lan, giving it ample access to fresh water and consequently prime agricultural real estate. The city's farms produce grains, beans, and nuts.
