Golden Mirror

When Luis de Mendoza was destroyed at the Pyramid Tomb, Marcus Samuelson and Francisco Andrés Lujan Ibarrondo searched his body. While Francisco was examining and coveting his conquistador's sword, Marcus found a Peruvian style cloth bag that contained something heavy. Inside, he found a Golden Mirror. The non-reflective side featured a stylized face. When he looked into the reflective side, however, he had visions in rapid succession:

• The Pyramid Tomb exploding at El Padre de los Gusanos burst forth from it with an ululating cry.
• A small man huddled in the corner of a dingy room, feverishly painting...something...
• A view out a train window, as sweeping vistas of African plains rolled by, accompanied by the strong smell of smoke...and then the screaming started...
