Weltbaum

This is an enormous tree that stands inside a huge, dimly illuminated chamber in Fallsmar. According to Prince Laurin, it represents the World Tree itself. At the ends of the biggest branches are eight orbs representing the Eight Worlds. Each orb reputedly has a portal leading to each world. A squirrel, Ratatoskr, runs along the branches and trunk, while Yrim - a huge serpent, slithers among the roots.
Kaleb briefly went through a portal in the Niflheim orb, so at least that part of the tale seems to be true.
Laurin indicated that the tree had become sick since around the time humans converted to the worship of Gaal.
