Clavis Arcana

The Clavis Arcana is the last book written by the theologian *Günther the Great. It is rumored to be his crowning achievement - the book without which all his other works remain misunderstood. It is rumored to be openly magical, containing tracts on alchemy, conjuration, and nearly all other magical traditions. The Church denies all such claims, and continues to venerate Günther as a foundational theologian and saint.
The book is assumed to be in possession of the Herzog Ludwig at Schloss Feeklause, as Günther belonged to the von Greifswelde clan, and was buried in the family crypt there. All his earthly possessions were given away, but personal property may have been unaccounted for. In any event, rumors of the book's presence in the castle persists, and scholarly querants occasionally appeared to inquire after the book. In all prior instances, the family turned them away.   
Now, access has been promised to Clothar Jäger, who appeared at an opportune time, when a vassal  of the duke is in need of his services to reclaim his estate.
