Enough of the humanoid population in Caudal D now possesses lichen symbiotes and chloroplasts in their cells that this new form of humanity, known as the Verdials, now breeds true and is in the majority among the local population. Over the course of several decades, all remaining Humans in Caudal D become Verdials through interbreeding.
