Structure
Original Link: The highest ranked member active, they serve as decision and veto-makers and are regarded for their wisdom. Most Original links come from a successful agenda of assassinations, sealings and recuperations for the cult, and must undertake a pilgrimage. the position is temporary and can be revoked over exceptionnal circumstances.
Flux-weaver: Versed in the art of soul absorption, they assist erasers and arbiters that gathered soul to analyse and refine their process to reduce aftereffects, making the soul fire devoid of remaining uniqueness and served only as an eternal source of energy. They act as doctors as researchists.
Arbiter: Outside of the most dangerous missions, they sometimes dabbled in regional politics to ensure their actions will not be hindered and keep tabs of parties involved with mana disrupters for subcequent judgements.
Eraser: considered the strongest members of the Twin Circle in term of combat and assassination capacities, those are assigned mission to execute the highest menaces.
Apostle: A follower of the Twin Crescent that does not have any particular higher rank. They are usually assigned reconnaissance missions to find sources of mana disruption and are allowed to ask as assistance under secrecy of identity.
Culture
The twin crescent raison d'être is to make use of a taboo few are willing to take the responsibility: soul draining. For them, soul draining is mostly a tool to avoid the power of a nefarious entity to return in a cycle of negative aftermath, such as used by demons , or remanifesting as an ectoplasm. While the process can corrupt most, the cult members are master in controlling and refining the absorbed source as pure fuel. Most considered such an act worse than death and still unreliable under humanoid hands, but the twin crescent cares less: for them, if they manages to reduce the presence of evil through their acts, it is a sacrifice they are willing to make.
Public Agenda
The twin crescent is a force of pure and removal of manifestation that are deemed too dangerous to remain unhindered, such as influence of strong maleficent creatures, mana disruption and especially ectoplasmic manifestations. When their cousin association concentrate on sealing, exorcising and restoring the vicinity after fact, the twin crescent is direct: direct elimination is their way to go, and to do so, they use a taboo art of consuming the manifest's soul, which they will refine as fuel for future mission and to increase their own strength.
Assets
The cult is funded over contract payments made by instances that can hire them. They usually demand payment after that, without even asking being asked before. It is considered very unsafe to refuse the payment they ask for their assistance, and usually loot any value the source of grief was having to cover their ressources expenses.
Various kingdoms and secret organisations funds them as a token of insurance if such manifest happen. The Cult does not overstep their demand however. But due to many helpers, their assets includes certains buildings in different regions, magical components and a full-operational castle with recent technology and magical equipement. the castle is rumored to be on it's own demi-plane, as the castle is on no map ever created.
History
The twin circle see that dangers of the world differently than their followers in faith from the moon goddess: Aeons ago, certains members underwent a taboo act to drain the soul of powerful followers of () to empower their own forces to destroy the upcoming of the extraplanar menace. This gave the defendants a strong victory, but at a cost: certains members that did the taboo became overwhelmed with the energy and lost their original will, turning to 'demons' , in the words of some. Those were dispatched and caused more casualties. This put an unrepairable breach of trust between the former leader () and her second in command (). Both parties thinking they were right, the soul-drainers disbanded of the cult to create their own branch. To this day, an animosity remains between both as their belief in the safeguard of the soul are dimaetrically opposed, but they are not at war: a common no-aggression is made among them and separation of agendas are usually made when possible, as both still try to follow their deity's edict and inner fighting would be detrimental on both.
