The Three-Roads Cooking Festival

Hey oh ! To the East I go! Past the bridge of Marrengro There's a place that you should know The flavor road, the nose follows   Next to the field of pumpkins We all share some kind of kin As we hear the call for feast And fill our mugs with ease   For it is the Cooking Festival There's no need to be formal Meat and mead as far as you can see A dragon would boil in jealousy   So grab a patty and some pie Veggies and some drink, says I Forget not some cake for you And get an ale for me too

History

The Three-Roads Cooking Festival was originally organised by a noble adventurer named Ludivine Charlemagne. While she helped the reconstruction of the small village, she invested into making her own brewery and started to create different kinds of alcohol. The success was good, and brought extra people in the village to work, slightly expanding it's size. However, she felt the place could benefit more by making the others towns in the region get involved in a common goal. The region was used to deal with their own problems alone because of the former nobility leaving them out of support, and thus she wanted people from all nearby towns to have some interest in making something cultural together.   Thus came the idea of the cooking festival. The goal was to crown a cook each time for their capacity to use different ressources from different towns to make a dish promoting all of the nearby towns, encouraging the participants to try different things. The winner would have the privilege to present their food at a feast with the regional nobility. Over time, the competition's influence extended as other cooks from different regions wanted to showcase their capacities. Thus, different categories, local and international, were made to please everyone. Thanks to this change, the festival brought a lot of tourism and expanded the cooking culture of the land, making the population interested in new recipes and ingredients to experiment on.
