Tatakiwhity forest

Geography

Tatakiwhity forest is located right next to Waharoa and is the most dense location of flora on the island. Lush and tropical, the forest is also home of many different creatures that developed fast breeding mutations due to the presence of Arcanic quartz provoqued by Arcanite-provoqued Volcanic Activity. It also has a fresh access to water as the river of Waharoa is connected to it. The nord part also has a hot mud lake which only the largest creature uses as the density can act like shifting sands for smaller fauna.   The forest has no roads and has gotten it's name by the local Pelagos which noticed the forest has a lot of sticky and slimy substances on many places and hunting grounds, from slime oily tracks to large and sticky webs made by giant spiders.

Ecosystem

Many herbivores from the plains sometimes venture through the west of the forest to gather possible extra food, the forest being quite rich in bugs for those enjoying this diet. However, the main predators in the forest, the giant spiders, usually traps this zone more to capture prey not knowing the nearby dangers. Some other creatures that can eat fish something venture north-east near Waharoa to profit from the river's occasional fishes traveling more up. The north part is inhabited by larger fauna using the mud lake as a resting ground, as they occasionally fight with other predators near the mountain as rest their possible burns with the mud.

Localized Phenomena

Near the mud lake is a rather peculiar river branch connecting to it which fills the lake with a reddish water. This is in part because of the arcanite crystals also interact with some oxidising iron near the earth's crust, oxiding the water and making it less consumable for most humanoids. This also makes the mud color more around an ochre color. Because of this, the creature resting in the mud regularly can develop hard rock patches on them as tough as iron, giving them a rather strong protection.   Also, a rather calm part of the jungle involves a rather simple stone statues of (deity), having on a bowl usually full of rainwater. this little man-made relic seems to make the local fauna not setting any trap or fighting nearby, only some small critters drinking the water from time to time, usually birds.
