The main vector is airborne. It is however not infectious.

Causes

The only known cause of Akashic Phantasmagoria is through the burning of amber-colored Arcanic quartz. Through sublimation, the arcanite produces a different effect when in gas form.

Symptoms

• Physical symptoms: coloration of the pupil, making it golden/yellow, feeling of light-headedness, muscular relaxation and limited lack of balance, light breathing complications.

• Mental symptoms: The main symptoms are hallucinations. The airborne arcanite passes through pores or noses , which then manages to partially reach the brain. While there, they affect the nervous systems and receptors, making the consumer able to have a partial glimpse of Akashic records (visual representation of past events).

Treatment

Most of the condition's effects dissapears after an average of 24 hours. But to completely remove all trace of the drug, it can take up to 1 month to remove any substantial trace of the body. If the consumer's reached a point their neural receptors are permanently affected, some rare herbs and medicine and a long process are necessary to restore them back.

Sequela

If consumers get a continuous consumption of amber arcanite, chances are the exposition will be so long that figments of the drug will attach to the host's neural receptor in a permanent way. If such an ordeal happens, the person could have hallucinations from the akashic records in their usual sight, made in such a way there are close to impossible to discern fact or fiction. While physical complications leading to death are very rare, the victim of these hallucinations may kill themselves by accident because of misinterpretation of what they see: they could, as an example, walk into a pit which was usually a bridge, or think an eldritch monster from the past is actually real and suffer an heart attack.

Epidemiology

The condition isn't infectious, but it is common for diviners to use it in groups by either having an censer, and/or burn the crystal in a close space to make a 'hot spot'.

Cultural Reception

Among the Pelagos , the seers and Queen are no uncommon to use those crystals for rituals. Having a higher resistance than most humanoid towards them, they are less to sequelas. Called the 'pastsight' by those, any Pelagos finding those amber-colored  are required to bring those to the Seers' headquarters as it is a very rare variation of arcanic quartz.
