The Divine Mending

The Divine Mending, colloquially known as the "Law of the Nine Lords," is a strange and unexplainable natural law that effects the twelve realms of Malyk. With its crystal sphere separated by the magical bindings of the Outer Realms, Malyk has adapted into a divine mending, bringing forth a new natural law. For each alignment, there can exist a single deity born from the magics that bind Malyk, therefore only nine gods, or the Nine Lords, can ever exist in Malyk. If an alignment is missing a god, then once any soul of that alignment becomes powerful enough, the natural divine magic of Malyk will ascend that soul to godhood. The only two gods whose ascension, and circumstances of ascension, are known are Ultima and Setyxket.
