Electricity

Electricity is a form of energy that takes on the form of lightning created by enchantment magic. When electricity combines with certain arcane ruins, its magic activates and powers. The discovery of this new magic led to arcane cores. The first arcane cores were made from Brightray, which, although serviceable, were often large, preventing any complex arcane runes to be inscribed onto its core. With the invention of Sindorite by the god Uvdohr, smaller handheld arcane cores became possible, creating technology such as computers.
Electricity occurs naturally in the realm of Horolgo. The lawful neutral plane was studied by the gods Uvdohr, Atinueas, and Rao, while the proper god of that realm, Setyxket, made his home on Malyk, within Al'Zharia, where he lived while mortal. The three of them used the natural electricity found there to create the The Grand Clock, which encompassed the entire realm. The experiments and research done there led to the construction of the Archives of Rao, which documented their accomplishments. When Ultima came to power and stole the realm of Horolgo from the three gods, the discovered the Archives and shared the secret knowledge of Electricity with her followers, giving rise to a spike of technology during the Imperial Age.
