Battery

A battery is any metal or device that is capable of storing Electricity. This invention is considered to have revolutionized technology, and give rise to modern day living conditions.
When Brightray was first invented, it was used to convert Electricity into a desired magical effect. At the time, only wizards were able to power these devices, and the Brightray cores did not hold a charge for long, as most of the magical energy was wasted, dispersing into nature. After the invention of Sindorite cores, power was more efficient and lasted longer, but the need for a material that could hold the magical energy became apparent. An alchemist from Hollow Mountain invented the first battery, a device capable of holding a large amount of magical energy and slowly releasing small amounts of Electricity over time. This invention allowed alchemists from all around Malyk to create inventions that were not feasible before, leading to the technological boom of the Imperial Age.
Batteries can be made of many types of materials, both natural and alchemical. Many Robots run on a Zinc and Lithium alloy battery, known as Cacleunyx, due to technical requirements of batteries requiring to be operational for their entire lifespan. Inventions that allow a battery to be replaceable or rechargable, such as phones or vehicles, tend to use cheaper batteries, many of which are natural alloys, rather than alchemical.
