The Kakina Basin War

Military action

385BE
370BE

The Amikwànò attacked the Sqʷn̓ečstm at Nibi Shàbwahàn in an attempt to claim more land up the Kakina River.

Why the Amikwànò attacked is still unknown. Some historians believe it was just a continuation of the expansion of the Amikwànò up the Kakina River. However, population estimates for the time indicate that there was plenty of space downriver. Another theory is that the Amikwànò were uncomfortable with another race controlling the source of the drainage basin but there is no hard evidence that points to this as a cause.
