History
The Turtledome Arena is one of the largest attractions of the western continent. It is one of the prides of the
Maracia Trade Alliance. In Maracia, more colloquially know as
Two Ports, it has been the main attraction for weary sailors to vent off steam and stress when taking shore leave. It was first built as a small ring that people would settle disputes with using a fist fight. As more people came to witness or participate and Two Ports gained wealth, the call for an actual building grew. Deciding that it would be a lucrative addition ot their income, the
Miser of the Lake decided to okay the construction. After its construction, was voted on by the people to call it the Turtledome Arena in honor of
Dragonturtle Lake, the center of their nation and what made them thrive.
Construction
Commissioned from the dwarves of the
Greymist Mountains, it's construction took nearly ten years to complete. The main body of the structure is comprised of granite with inner pillars and decorations of polished marble. The roof is affixed with limestone and designed to look like a turtle shell from the outside. The seating had once been carved mahogany crafted and provided by the elves of the
Burning Grove but eventually were replaced with more marble, the rowdiness of the crowd causing too many issues with maintenance.
