Prelude to War

Captain Gol’rotta of the Sivak Clan,
The news you have shared leaves little time for pleasantries. I do not doubt your words and will begin taking what actions I can. Your previous unit remains loyal in your absence, though several of your officers have been reassigned. To mobilize the whole clan will take some amount of proof but it is a delicate situation regardless. I will be reaching out to Warlord Quintessence for diplomatic negotiations first to give Frostbane a chance to explain themselves. Should they deny, this is where I will need as much as I can from you to present our case. This is an area where we must tread lightly. While our clan is strong and will not shy from a fight, no matter the odds, this is still Frostbane. Nothing immediate can be done, but I will be contacting the Alloy Alliance clans to let them know of these unforgivable crimes against us. Perhaps with all five clans united, we would stand a better chance if war is our only option.
To that end, please, save these poor souls. I have never heard of an intentional partial transformation to Draconian, but the state you describe sounds worse than slavery, it sounds like torture. It hurts my heart to know it is indeed a Sivak that has been corrupted. Not even for the pride of the clan, but for the amount of pain the girl must have suffered. Someone will answer for what has happened. My prediction is if Frostbane wants to avoid war, they will hand over General Arseny. Depending on what we find, that may or may not be good enough penance.
Regardless, I beg of you, on behalf of Clan Sivak, bring this ‘Aurora’ home. Hopefully alive so that she may heal with family, but if it is impossible to do that, at least bring her body back to be laid to rest where she belongs.
I did speak with Sutra’ber about the time she disappeared. According to her, she was only gone a few hours and had little information that made sense. Just that she followed the will-o-wisps like she had originally told us years ago. She does remember a very large, very sad creature and some sort of creature she’s never seen before or since. Considering the Dreaming Grove and its inhabitants, it doesn’t help narrow anything down. I’rosha was a little more helpful. While she didn’t care to relive the experience, she assures me no other children went missing around that time. However, there was another tragedy that year that was overlooked in the panic of searching for Sutra’ber. She informed me that there was an egg that never hatched. Since you seemed to think there was an important link, I went to the Tlhaw’Dlyus, where we keep all the unhatched. Against the wishes of Preator Kal’bortaash, I inspected the egg from the year Sutra’ber’s misfortune. I am unsettled to say that it was not an egg, but a polished stone with a fairly major enchantment on it. I dare not tell I’rosha my findings, but I am disturbed at the thought that these are connected, as it would imply that some of the Fey would have had dealings with Frostbane.
If the replaced egg is indeed the same as this Aurora’s, with a heavy heart I must regretfully say that both parents have passed on. Her father was lost in a battle with drow before the egg was laid. When it failed to hatch, her mother became despondent.. Records say she wouldn’t eat, she didn’t sleep, she just let her life fade away. If this is indeed a deal Frostbane made and not some sickening coincidence, they have more than just the disgrace they issued us by turning one of our own into their rabid attack dog to answer for.
This will not be ignored. While I have no insight as to your current position in Dugafjord, keep fighting in a manner that would make the Sivak proud.
  For the clan,
Praetora B’lanna
