Queen of the Lake

The "Faerie Queen of the Donneshire Hills" ruled over the fey creatures around Lake Bolo for many centuries, creating an idyllic wonderland for pixies, dryads, satyrs, and slyphs; all manner of goodly (or at last benignly mischievous) fey creatures. She is well known by the Halflings of the Donneshire Hills, who regarded her with caution at the least, and fear at the worst.  She was often used as a threat against halfling children who wouldn't stay in bed or eat their vegetables.  Threats akin to, "The Queen of the Lake is watching, and if you don't walk the straight path she'll snatch you up for a changeling," were common around exasperated halfling households.
Recent changes to the ecology of Lake Bolo have caused fey scholars in the area to theorize that something has happened to the Queen of the Lake.
