Astaurus

The child of elvish royalty and a green dragon, Astaurus was a hero of great renown during The Long Years Past (The Second Great Age of Malatoria). His exploits were many, not the least of which was felling Bezzkerron, the original possessor of the Grim Façade and Star of Ruin. Eventually, Astaurus was cursed and imprisoned by a powerful Necromancer, sealing him in a state of stasis far underneath the city of Thallaspur. A group of heroes would revive him in The Golden Age of Malatoria, but his curse was not entirely broken. Astaurus is magically confined to his chamber at the top of the Tower of Thallaspur. Physically unable to leave his room by these strange arcane forces, he surrounds himself with all manner of things wondrous and exotic, hoping to ease the incredible restlessness in his heart.
He stands just over six feet tall, slim of build with jet black hair and sparkling emerald eyes. His features are incredibly sharp and although capable of great warmth, his alien demeanor gives him an air of unapproachability.
Now the Regent of Thallaspur, Astaurus is one of the most powerful beings in all of Malatoria, wielding the Shadowstar, an intelligent, sword whose power is the stuff of legend.
Although unable to leave his tower, Astaurus governs by meeting with a council and executing orders through his berst friend Hassem, a noble djinn who is repaying a life debt to Astaurus.
At a recent parade, however, Hassem seemingly went berzerk, murdering a city official and setting a great beast free to rampage through the city streets.  Since that moment Hassem has been missing and the tower door to Astaurus' abode in the Tower has been magically sealed, essentially cutting him off from the Thallaspur.
