The Satyrs of Becher

The Satyrs are famous around Sklavig as the original cultivators, brewers, and traders of the Sapphire Hops. Near the home kingdom of Becher lies the infamous city of Everburn, a massive trading hub in the region of Sklavig. Deep in the center of Everburn, the Satyrs run the city's largest tavern and inn; The Donkeys Bite. A large wooden long hall that can seat hundreds, the Donkeys Bite is a famous meeting area for many.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Large plant that grows in a cone upwards. Large pale sapphire toned hops bud from the plant.

Growth Rate & Stages

Young plants are bright green throughout the plant. As the plant beings to mature and the hops ripen, the hops on the plant will begin to turn a pale blue color.

Ecology and Habitats

Sklavig as a region is riddled with desserts. The high heat and low humidity of the region has allowed the Sapphire Hop to grow wild in the region for hundreds of years.

Sapphires Belch

The brewing of the hops is quite tricky and creates a particularly pungent and slightly purple ale dubbed Sapphires Belch that is famous for its potent effects on the mind. The brew itself has a uniquely foul odor that could curdle milk and make any adult vomit violently. If you can stomach the smell though, you will be pleasantly surprised, as the flavor of the ale is far from offensive. Sapphire Belch tastes of an earthy citrus flavor hiding a hint of sour blueberries. This particular brew is quite popular throughout the land and has a reputation for causing some to experience an out of body sensation when consumed in excessive amounts. After the beers initial invention Sapphire Belch was wildly popular around the realm, but unfortunately, some new users of the brew found some pretty tragic ends. Many became addicted to the drink losing homes, families, and in one particular case, an entire kingdom. Sapphire Belch is banned in several realms throughout the nation for its psychoactive and addictive properties.

The art is well chosen and the gradient is a good idea.   What peaked my interest is the one person losing it's kingdom over a brew. I'd be eager to read the reason and aftermath.
