Keog Dull Iron

The realm built in Iron.

Introduction:

The Kingdom of Fandel controls the northern region of Keog and many of the mines that litter the area. The humans here are a descended line from the Humans who live in Mynari. Resources in the mines have created a vibrant and prosperous nation here. The northern reaches in the realm of Keog are a cavernous, rocky, and canyon filled region that is teeming with the worlds most precious metals.

The most abundant mineral:

A robust form of Iron is mined here called Dull Iron. The Iron is dull grey with almost no reflective properties. The iron itself when heated and cooled makes an excellent steel blade that stays sharper than any other known currently to Worheim. The Dull Iron weapons are straightforward to notice with their dull and faded grey. The Iron is fashioned into many different weapons for the Kingdom of Fandel and their surrounding neighbors.

Where can the Iron be Mined:

Dull Iron is mined in numerous quarries throughout the realm of Keog. The largest mine was the Mines Of Mormo to the west, but that region has fallen silent in recent years.

Physical Characteristics:

The material is mined out of the ground in dark grey chunks, and when heated and formed into blades, the metal loses none of its dullness as the color is like a fade grey.

Properties of the Metal:

• Extremely strong and easy to work within the forge.

• Edges of weapons stay miraculously sharp for a great while.

Where is the Dull iron sold?:

The Dragon Kin of Sklavig have formed a close relationship as one of the premier purchasers of the products. They are using the Iron for Weapons, buildings, and much more. The Dragon Kin are not known to reason with many of the other realms as they can be relatively volatile. Their relationship with humans seems to be solely based on the fact that the Dragon Kin could not make such weapons on their own.

The material is so prevalent in the region that most of the furniture, buildings, and castles are made with large amounts of the metal. Giving the nation the famous Nickname: "The Dull Realm."
