SS-Hauptsturmführer Andreas Herz

Andreas Herz was a Hauptsturmführer in the SS. He was a member of Ahnenerbe, which was a task force dedicated to searching for magical artefacts. Most of his service, both before and during the war, he spent searching for the Genitals of Uranus, the source of magic. It is said that the person who bonds with them would have total control over magic.

Personal History

Andreas was born in 1914 in a small village in East Prussia. His father was drafted for war about a month before his birth and died not much later. Andreas was raised only by his mother, aunt and grandparents. Andreas' childhood wasn't the easiest one.

For many years he blamed the war for taking his father away from him. After growing up, Andreas left his home village and moved to Berlin to study history at the university. While he was studying he heard of Adolf Hitler and his party. Hitler's claims of making Germany stronger appealed to him and Andreas joined the party.

When Heinrich Himmler became Reichsführer of the SS in 1929, Andreas was approached with a propositition of joining a special task force dedicated to searching for magical artefacts. Andreas was chosen because of his history education. He agreed.

As a member of the task force, Andreas was tasked in locating and acquiring the Genitals of Uranus. He spent the whole time until the end of World War 2 on this assignment.

After the war, Andreas was arrested by the Allies as a member of the SS. However, he was quickly released after it became obvious that he spent the whole time of Hitler's reign on his search and had nothing to do with the atrocities.

In the post-war era Andreas lived in Western Germany and worked as a professor of history at a university. For a few years after the war he wanted to continue the search for Genitals of Uranus. However, he quickly abandoned that idea. He said that this type of power shouldn't be available to Humans.

Feelings about atrocities

Andreas has never supported the atrocities committed by the Third Reich. He didn't like the fact that during his search he had to be a part of the SS, the organization which ran the holocaust. After the World War 2 he was ashamed of being part of it.
