The Order of Lakle
Structure
The Order of Lakle is made up of eight Sages, each with their own duties. The eight Sages are listed as: The Temple Host, The Guardian, The Ritual Guide, The Healer, The Oracle, The Book keeper, the Clan Speaker, and the Treasure Keeper. The host is in charge of the workings of the temple, and governs how it is run. It is their responsability to provide shelter ans safety to Majan seeking refuge. The Guardian is charged with protecting the temple from invaders. The Ritual Guide brings together Majan to practice cultural events, oversee ceremonies, and more. The Healer studies the body, and travels far and wide to spread theor medical knowladge, as well as teach new healers. The Oracle is the seer. They advise the others, and remain aware of uncoming tribulation. Any can come and consult their wisdom. The Book Keeper tends the Library, ensuring magical knowladge and history is preserved. The Clan Speaker travels between clans, ensuring peaceful cooperation, as well as pass on messages from the others Sages to Clan Leaders and advice them. The Treasure Keeper is the warden of the Vault, and protects and studies the relics and valubles kept there.
Culture
While the temple is home to the Council, many people come and go from all areas in the old country. It is the duty of the council to provide a safe haven for them, as well as a center of learning for young Majan. Other than that, they weild no power of the Clans, and can only interfere when requested.
Assets
The temple is run by tributes from the clans, as well as the generosity of others.
Military
The Council Guards, a force of about twenty to fifty Mages, under the command of the Guardian are stationed in the temple to protect it, or deployed to the service of other Clan Leaders or individuals.
Religion
While the temple is dedicated to the goddess Lakle of the Majan Pantheon, the order also worships other deities in the Pantheon.
Foreign Relations
The Clan Speaker is the voice of the Order to others, and they mediate disagreements between Majan Clans, witness diplomatic events, report on the clans to the council, and represent their interests. The Clan Speaker can have several apprentices, who they educate to take their place. They must have an excellent understanding of languages, culture, and geography.
Education
The Council welcomes Majan students who want to learn magic. They will assign them to a certain Sage, and teach them as an apprentice, or arrange to give them access to the library for personal study.
Infrastructure
The infastructure in the temple is overseen by the Temple Host, who ensures supplies are kept, fresh water and sewege are functioning properly, and guests have places to stay.
