Ring of Hett

The Ring of Hett is an ancient silver band, unadorned with any jewels, but with several runes cut into the band. It is made to hold the power of Hett's magic and the shadows of a Suicide Curse.

History

The Ring of Hett was first known in the Myth of Hett and Maya, in which Hett breaks the ring to release her curse on Maya's killers. The ring is later mended with lines of molten silver. It's next known owner was the Necromancer of the Restless Tomb. He used it in the same way to defeat the army invading the castle. There, it was found by Mage Lyell in the year 1087, who wears it until 1089, when he almost casts the Suicide Curse, but changes his mind and drops the ring on the floor in the royal throne room.

Significance

Without the ring, the power necessary to cast the Suicide Curse is unstable and uncontrollable. The ring collects the power and holds it until it is broken and released.
